In the automotive industry, there has been remarkable achievements in fuel efficiency improvement in the past five years. This was achieved by several different approaches such as hybrid engine technology, electric vehicles or renovation of internal combustion engine. Either way, this improvement has become possible by innovation and not by an extension of traditional techniques.
On the other hand if you see information devices used in car, monster high performance processer like over GHz clock, quad core CPU is getting adopted and it makes high resolution multiple display available. Also, highly complex software foundations like Linux OS becomes common. However, it looks these technologies cannot provide brand new experience for the drivers yet.
We not believe that we are ready to make a great leap in advanced car information system that fully utilizes cloud database asset and help safety driving assistance (soft ADAS concept) .
